Summer Internships

High School Internships and
Laboratory Tours

A limited number of internships are available on a volunteer basis to high school students interested in learning about careers in medicine or biomedical research.  Most students intern for 8 weeks during the summer months.  Exceptional students in their senior year of high school who have completed all of their course requirements may, with permission of their school district, receive credit for internships during the school year.

Interested students should see Research Programs for descriptions of the research being conducted at LIMR and address inquiries to Dr. Janet Sawicki (sawickij@mlhs.org).

LIMR also hosts groups of 10-20 students from local high schools for a 2 hour program that includes tours of several laboratories and a discussion of the educational training and career paths of biomedical researchers at LIMR.  School administrators and teachers interested in this opportunity should contact Dr. Janet Sawicki (sawickij@mlhs.org).
