Summer Undergraduate Internships

LIMR offers funded summer internships for undergraduate students in their freshman, sophomore, or junior years who are interested in pursuing careers in medicine and biomedical research.  Interns will receive a $3,200 stipend for an 8-week internship that can be extended to ten weeks with the approval of the mentor.

We anticipate having 6 interns for the 2008 summer program.  The program will run from June 2 through July 25, 2008.

LIMR encompasses a dynamic group of scientists conducting basic and preclinical research in cancer, cardiovascular diseases, aging, and diabetes.  After reviewing the Research Programs of the scientists, applicants may wish to indicate a preference for the program(s) they are most interested in.

To apply, interested students should send the following by mail:

  • A cover letter describing their career goals, why they are interesting in the summer intern program, and any research program preference(s)
  • A resume that includes relevant course work and laboratory experience
  • An official college transcript
  • One letter of recommendation from a college professor or former high school teacher
