Trials of the important blood replenishment drug Epogen® were performed at Lankenau Hospital by Dr. Robert Benz and his colleagues. Studies of sleep apnea and other sleep disorders suffered by patients with renal failure and relieved by Epogen® were pioneered at Lankenau Hospital. Ongoing research in this and other areas is coordinated through LIMR. The Sleep Medicine Center is directed by psychologist Dr. Mark Pressman and pulmonologist Dr. Donald Peterson, MD, chief of Sleep Medicine Services for the Main Line Health System.
