The Lankenau Institute for Medical Research
The valuable research conducted at LIMR cannot be done without the financial resources to fund it. While researchers at LIMR receive funding from peer-reviewed sources such as the National Institutes of Health (NIH), we still rely heavily upon the generosity of individuals, foundations, and corporations to support our work. Your contribution will help us maintain the highest quality of basic, preclinical, and clinical research and guarantee that the important work at LIMR will continue to grow.
The money that LIMR receives is used for many different things. Funds that are raised for a specific project are used to support only that project. Unrestricted funds, support the researchers and personnel working within the laboratories as well as laboratory equipment and supplies, the buildings and laboratories that we occupy; day-to-day utilities such as gas, electricity, and water; and support personnel to our research staff, such as IT, accounting, editorial, and administrative services. All of these things are essential to the success of our research programs.
Unrestricted gifts to LIMR are important because they allow us to decide where that gift will do the most good. For example, if a researcher receives a $50,000 grant with the condition that the LIMR matches those funds, we can use unrestricted contributions to match that grant, essentially doubling the amount of you unrestricted contribution.
