Programs
The Lankenau Institute for Medical Research (LIMR) conducts basic and clinical investigations in cancer and cardiovascular disease, with these primary programs complemented by studies of diabetes and other chronic diseases. Our work is highly multi-disciplinary in organization, encompassing and integrating clinical research efforts in the Main Line Heart Center and the Cancer Centers at Lankenau Hospital and other Main Line Hospitals.
CancerCancer research reaches broadly into many aspects of biomedical science. Our work in this diverse field focuses on developing new methods to improve prognosis and treatment of the most common and deadly cancers.

Cardiovascular DiseaseCardiovascular disease is the most prominent killer in the U.S. after cancer. Our work focuses on new drugs and devices to correct heart beat disorders, treat and prevent heart attacks and strokes, and avert heart failure.

DiabetesDiabetes and metabolic syndrome are becoming common in the industrialized world due to rising rates of obesity. Our research in this area focuses on experimental drugs to cure diabetes or prevent its cardiovascular complications.

Additional Programs
In conjunction with our core programs in cancer and cardiovascular disease, LIMR researchers also investigate arthritis, infectious disease, kidney failure, neurological disorders, and lung disease, with the goal of improving health and well-being.
