(WESTON®) annual charity Fight from the Fairway golf tournament is scheduled for Saturday, May 21, 2011 at the Honeybrook Golf Club in Honey Brook, PA. Fight from the Fairway began in 2002 when WESTON employee Karen Schneider was first diagnosed with breast cancer. She lost her battle in the spring of 2008 and this fundraising event continues in her memory.
“Everyone at the Lankenau Institute for Medical Research is proud to celebrate the 10 year milestone of Fight from the Fairway, which continues to do a spectacular job in its fundraising to support breast cancer awareness and research,” stated George Prendergast, Ph.D., Professor, President and CEO of LIMR. “With the vital help of this event, our Institute has made great strides in our breast cancer research. We are extremely grateful to Weston Solutions and all the generous people who support the tournament year after year. This event is a great example of how the idea of a few motivated people can galvanize a major effort that transforms fundraising for an important cause.”
Breastcancer.org’s president and founder Dr. Marisa Weiss, a breast radiation oncologist for over 20 years and one of our area’s “Top Doctors,” stated, “The Fight from the Fairway, and the tireless, impassioned philanthropy it represents, has been indispensable to our success.
